Full Circle Guitar with rosS Hamlin
Hello and thanks for checking out my site! My name is rosS Hamlin and I've been teaching guitar for over 20 years. A professional musician in a variety of contexts, I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1996 and moved to New Mexico in the Fall of 2004.
Emphasizing full-brain creativity, my teaching style is patient, detailed, innovative and most importantly, fun! I teach guitar (rock, jazz, funk, classical, folk), electric bass, voice, composition and applicable music theory in any combination desired. My approach is mostly an intuitive one, but I usually start by asking students where they are and figuring out where they want to go. After assessing their goals with guitar or music we then figure out a creative way to attain them. I'm also available via Skype.
I've found that while some students may want to read better, others just to play and sing songs, and others to be able to improvise and figure out songs by ear, all share a need for a supportive, safe, fun and challenging environment in which to grow. My goal is to
explore more ways to provide this and continue to learn from everyone I encounter. Feel free to poke around here a little bit to get a sense of where I'm coming from!
